Project2 Week1: Reference and Storyboard.

This short film is related to a Buddhist story. I chose this topic because there is a very famous Buddhist cave in my hometown. There are many murals in it depicting Buddhist stories. I have been influenced by it since I was a child. The murals are very beautiful and distinctive. I thought that maybe I could use this as inspiration for a little animation.

The main character of the story is a fairy on a mural. She accidentally leaves from the mural. She is confused, so she tries various ways to get back into the wall. But none of them work and she feels very upset. This meant that she could not go home. That’s when she saw the story of Sakyamuni on the mural. This story tells us that When Sakyamuni faced difficulties and darkness, he concentrated on self-cultivation and solved the difficulties. The fairy was inspired that since things had already happened, she should focus on her own upliftment and not suffer for things that could not be changed. After this, the fairy focused on thinking, dancing and learning. Becoming a better version of herself. The Buddha sees how she has changed and allows her to return to the mural.
